Patrice Hayden works in the Law School’s Office of Career Services, where she serves as Senior Director of Law Firm Recruiting. In this position Ms. Hayden has a dual role. First, she assits law students with all aspects of their job search: interview practice, resume review and overall job search strategy. Second, she works with law firm employers to help them in their programs to recruit Virginia Law students.

Prior to joining the Office of Career Services, Ms. Hayden was an associate at an AmLaw 100 law firm in Washington, D.C., where she specialized in white-collar, regulatory and consumer-protection matters. During her tenure at the law firm, she spent five years on the recruiting committee, culminating in her chairing the summer associate program, and served as co-chair of the office’s Lawyers of Color affinity group.

Ms. Hayden received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Stanford University and her J.D. and MBA from the University of Virginia. While at UVA, Ms. Hayden was an articles editor for the Virginia Journal of Law & Technology and a member of Phi Alpha Delta, the Black Law Students Association and the Women of Color student organizations. She was also elected to Omicron Delta Kappa and the Raven Society.



While she has spent a few years in Washington, DC, Patrice considers Texas home. In her spare time, she enjoys reading a good mystery and her beloved Dallas Cowboys. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
